2025 Progression Glass Art Guild of Utah Submission

Eligibility and Guidelines:

  • Artist must be a member of the Glass Art Guild of Utah to participate.
  • Work must be original (not executed in the classroom, under educational guidance or supervision) and not previously been exhibited at the Brigham City Museums.
  • Collaborative work (two or more artists) may be entered.
  • The work may be for sale. Brigham City Museum of Art & History retains 20% of all sales.

Artwork Requirements:

  • Each artist may submit up to three works.
  • All submissions must be:
    • Created between 3/21/2024 and 3/21/2026.
    • Cannot exceed 40″ (inches) wide by 40″ long by 70″ high, unless discussed with the Museum in advance of formal submission. We are unable to hang works from the ceiling.
    • Ready to exhibit with accompanying hardware/materials required to display your works.
    • For Hanged Works: Ready to hang with strong hanging wire attached with D or O rings (or similar). Use of claw hangers will lead to an automatic disqualification. The hanging apparatus must not show when the piece is hung unless it is integrated into the design.
    • Accompanied with high-resolution photos for marketing and publicity efforts, submitted via this submission portal.  Contact the Museum if you have issues with file uploads.
    • Include artist statement, list medium and materials used, not to exceed 280 characters.
    • Connected to the competition theme: Progression. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own unique way.

Jury Process:

The juror will award 5 cash prizes, with first place taking $500. An additional Audience Choice award will be announced at the end of the exhibition. Prize winning submissions may be considered for an additional Purchase Prize, for which the piece would be acquired by the Museum’s permanent collection. Purchase Prize amounts equal the cost of the piece minus commission, are based on alignment with the collection scope and the availability of funds, and are not awarded every year.

You will be asked to agree with these Terms and Conditions.

 

Fee: $35 entry fee for up to three entries. Members must pay their fees by going to this link. Fee must be paid prior to entry deadline listed above and is not refundable.  For issues with payment, please contact Alana Blumenthal at alana@boxeldermuseum.org.

 

Insurance: The gallery provides insurance for the artwork while it is in their possession. The artist will be responsible for insuring the work during delivery to and from the gallery.

 

Delivery: The artist is responsible for delivering or coordinating delivery of all items before the submission deadline.  Two-way shipping charges are the responsibility of the artist. For questions or special arrangements, please contact Alana Blumenthal at alana@boxeldermuseum.org.
