Ink, Iron, and Earth: Celebrating 250 Years of America’s “Milestone Documents”

Image on a tan background with what looks like a parchment scroll in the middle. On the parchment it reads at the top: "Ink, Iron and Earth: Celebrating 250 Years of America's Milestone Documents". Underneath this is an image of a stack of books with a quill and parchment on top and a pair of glasses in the front of it. To the right of the books is a wax seal and in the middle it reads, "Jan 10, 2026 1:00pm". Underneath this it reads, "Join historian Dr. Johnathan Fairchild and discover the stories of the visionaries, rail workers, and homesteaders who built our country from ink, iron, and earth."

January 10 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

Join historian Dr. Jonathan Fairchild at the Brigham City Museum of Art and History at 1:00 pm on January 10, 2026 for a program celebrating 250 years of American history. Fairchild will trace how the most important documents in our nation’s past shaped Utah into what it is today. These documents didn’t just define our nation through the power of the pen, but led to the physical transformation of Box Elder County and turned Utah into the crossroads of the West. From the ideals of 1776 and the birth of America with the Declaration of Independence to theĀ  transportation revolution of the Pacific Railway Act, discover the stories of the visionaries, rail workers, and homesteaders who built our country from ink, iron, and earth.
