Looking for a Unique Volunteer Opportunity?

The Brigham City Museum is looking for a few enthusiastic individuals to volunteer at the museum! We are currently looking for people for the following volunteer positions:

Museum Docent and Front Desk Greeter

  • Greeting museum visitors in a friendly manner.
  • Record visitor numbers.
  • Be knowledgeable enough about collections to answer general questions about objects on exhibit.
  • Offer guided tours of current exhibitions as determined by Programs Manager.
  • Inform museum guests of upcoming exhibitions and education opportunities and events.
  • Enforce safety rules and assist with guest safety.
  • Flexible weekday or Saturday shifts are available- we will work with your schedule!

Education and Programming Assistant

  • Help as needed with after hours programs. This requires being here on one Friday night or Saturday per month.
  • Assist with our upcoming Junior Curators Summer Camp during the week of July 7-11 if possible.
  • Assist in creating educational material for students and teachers related to the museum collection.
  • Weekday or Saturday shifts are available- we will work with your schedule!

Collections Assistant

  • Gain training on working with a museum collection.
  • Work on a collections project under the supervision of our Museum Curator.
  • Weekday or Saturday shifts are available- we will work with your schedule!

Exhibition Installation Assistant

  • Assist in installing exhibitions 3-5 times a year during museum changeout week. This could include:
    • Painting walls
    • Hanging art
    • Moving walls/cases/podiums
    • Measuring
    • Other tasks as assigned by Museum Preparator
